Who you are agreeing with

These terms are between you and N3O Studios, who operate n3os.com and tools.n3os.com. Using either site means you accept them. If you do not, the remedy is not to use the sites, which costs you nothing.

You must be at least 18 and legally capable of entering a contract to create an account. Browsing requires neither.

What the service is

n3os is a directory of software made by other companies, together with our own written guides to those tools, a blog, and a small number of free tools we build ourselves.

Almost everything listed in the directory is a third-party product. We do not make it, sell it, host it, or control it. When you follow a link to one, you leave our site and whatever happens next is between you and them, under their terms and their privacy policy.

Our write-ups are our editorial opinion, formed from public information and from an automated check that confirms each listed product's own site still responds and still names the product. That check does not test that a product works, that its pricing is current, or that our description is still accurate. Products change and our pages go stale; treat what we write as a starting point and not as advice you act on without looking.

Trademarks and other people's brands

All product names, logos, brands, trademarks and registered trademarks named on these sites are the property of their respective owners. They are used here for identification only, and their use does not imply any endorsement, affiliation or sponsorship in either direction.

If you own a product listed here and you want the listing corrected or removed, write to us and we will action it. You do not have to explain why, and we will not argue the point. We ask only that you tell us which listing you mean and give us enough to show the product is yours.

Your content and your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to your sign-in email secure. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms or the law. Where we can do that with notice we will; where waiting would cause harm we may act first and explain afterwards.

You can close your account at any time, and doing so deletes the personal data associated with it, as described in the Privacy Policy.

What you may not do

Do not use these sites to:

• break any law that applies to you, or to us;
• scrape, republish or resell our written guides as a competing directory;
• attempt to gain access to accounts, systems or data that are not yours;
• interfere with the service, including by automated request volume intended to degrade it;
• impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection with any person or product.

Reading the site with a crawler is fine within what robots.txt permits. Copying the catalogue wholesale is not.

Our content

The guides, blog posts, tools we build, and the arrangement of the directory are ours. You may read them, link to them, and quote them with attribution. You may not republish them in bulk or pass them off as your own.

Linking to us is welcome and needs no permission.

What we do not promise

The sites are provided as they are. We do not promise they will be available without interruption, that the information in them is complete or current, or that a listed product will suit your purpose. We are not responsible for third-party products, their availability, their pricing, their security, or anything you agree with them.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. In particular, nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in India, or the equivalent consumer protection law where you live.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, or for any loss arising from your use of a third-party product you found here. Where liability cannot be excluded and a financial cap is permitted, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one thousand rupees.

Paid plans

There are none today, and everything on both sites is free to use. If that changes, the price, what it covers, and a refund policy will be published before anything is charged for, and we will not begin charging for something that is free today without telling you first.

Advertising, sponsorship and commissions

Nothing is listed, ranked, or criticised because somebody paid, and there is no fee to be listed.

If a link ever earns us a commission, it is labelled on the page it appears on, immediately beside the link rather than in a footer. If a placement is ever sponsored, it is labelled Sponsored, it sits outside the directory's own listings, and it changes nothing about which tools are listed or what their guides say.

Complaints and grievance redressal

If something here is wrong, unlawful, infringes your rights, or you simply want a listing removed, write to grievance@n3os.com. Put enough in the message to identify what you mean. General questions go to support@n3os.com instead, which is the faster route for anything that is not a complaint.

In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, our Grievance Officer is named below. We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours of receiving it and resolve it within 15 days. Where a complaint concerns content that is unlawful on its face, we act faster than that.

For complaints about personal data specifically, the Privacy Policy sets out your rights and the authorities you can escalate to.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the UK, the EU, or another country whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings locally and to the protection of your own consumer law, that right is not taken away by this clause.

Changes

We may change these terms. If a change matters to you, we will say so on the site before it takes effect and move the date at the top. Continuing to use the sites after that means you accept the change; if you do not, close your account and stop using them.
